When I was six years old, in the summer of 1988, my father took me to the 125th Anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg. I still remember the sound of muskets, the smell of black powder, and the sight of history coming alive before my eyes. That experience sparked a lifelong fascination with the past and the people who shaped it.

As I grew older, that passion led me into American Civil War reenacting, where I participated in events across Mississippi, Virginia, and later in smaller gatherings in Arizona. Each event deepened my appreciation for authentic craftsmanship — the tools, weapons, and gear that connected us to those who lived through history.

After moving to Utah in 2014, I discovered the Fur Trade Rendezvous, and everything seemed to come full circle. The world of the mountain men — rugged, self-reliant, and resourceful — captured my imagination just as the battlefields once had.

From that passion, Revenant Trading Company was born. Our mission is to recreate the tools, knives, and wares of the Fur Trade Era, each one handcrafted in Utah with historical accuracy and respect for the past. Every piece is built to look, feel, and perform as the originals once did — keeping the frontier spirit alive for reenactors, historians, and all who still feel the call of the trail.
