Live Fire | Outdoor Range | Approximately 4 Hours

The Applied Marksmanship and Drill Training course builds upon foundational rifle and pistol skills through structured, performance‑focused drills designed to improve efficiency, consistency, and control. This course emphasizes applying advanced shooting fundamentals under dynamic conditions while maintaining strict safety and disciplined firearm handling.

Instruction focuses on refining marksmanship while introducing movement, varied engagement distances, and target transitions. Students will learn how to manage their firearm effectively while responding to changing target presentations and positional demands in a controlled range environment.

This course may be conducted with rifle or pistol, depending on the student’s focus and equipment.

Course Duration:

  • Approximately 4 hours of live‑fire instruction at an outdoor range

Course Focus & Skills Built:

Students will train in:

  • Rapid target acquisition and sight management

  • Engaging targets at varying distances

  • Shooting while moving under controlled conditions

  • Transitions between multiple targets

  • Target engagement to either side of the shooter

  • Reinforcement of trigger control, recoil management, and follow‑through

  • Maintaining safety, muzzle discipline, and situational awareness during dynamic drills

Drills are structured to challenge students while remaining deliberate and instructional, allowing shooters to identify inefficiencies and correct technique through repetition and feedback.

Course Intent:

The intent of this course is to bridge the gap between static marksmanship and applied shooting skills. Students will not leave as expert marksmen, but they will leave with a clearer understanding of how to practice effectively, diagnose performance issues, and continue developing skills independently.
