The Basic Outdoor Bushcraft Skills course is designed for individuals who have never experienced camping and want to learn the fundamentals before their first outdoor adventure. This hands-on course emphasizes practical techniques, safety, and confidence-building, giving students the knowledge and skills to enjoy a safe and comfortable experience in the outdoors.
Skills Covered

Tent setup and basic campsite organization (students provide their own tent)

Firecraft: safe fire-starting methods, fuel selection, and fire maintenance. Local fire danger conditions will apply at time of course.

Water procurement and basic purification techniques

Introduction to edible and useful plants (local flora identification)

Basic navigation: map reading, compass use, and natural navigation cues

Knot tying, cordage use, and safe handling of basic outdoor tools

Prerequisites
No prior experience is required. Students should be prepared for outdoor activity, able to hike or move over uneven terrain, and dress appropriately for weather conditions.
