Columbus Depot jackets were issued to many units in the Army of Tennessee.  They were all made from jean cloth and have Medium Blue collar and cuffs. The front of the body is curved, and the bottom of the back has a slightly "pointed tail". It has 2 interior patch pockets, and the lining is made of cotton Osnaburg. It has a 6-button front. The buttonholes are hand sewn and 7/8" dished wooden button are sewn on. The exterior of the collar is blue wool while the inside of the collar is the same jean wool as the body of the coat.
