Olive Wood Handle

A faithful reproduction of a frontier essential, this Patch Knife represents the standard tool carried by riflemen throughout the fur trade and longhunter eras. Used primarily for cutting cloth or thin leather “patches” to wrap around a lead ball — ensuring a snug fit in the rifled barrel — it was an indispensable part of any marksman’s kit.

Handles were traditionally made from whatever was at hand — antler, horn, or wood. Our version features a beautifully grained olive wood handle, shaped for comfort and durability. The 4" hand-forged carbon steel blade offers excellent utility both at the firing line and around camp, where it serves equally well for fine work, food prep, or light chores. The knife measures approximately 8½" overall.

Each comes complete with a heavy, hand-stitched leather sheath, suitable for belt carry or simple tucking through the sash — just as period riflemen often wore them.

Handcrafted in Utah.
Because each knife is individually forged and finished, slight variations in size, shape, and color add to the authenticity and character of every piece.
