US Sack Coat
Also known as a Fatigue Blouse, the Union Sack Coat was the standard uniform jacket worn by enlisted men of the Union Army during the Civil War.
Introduced early in the war, the sack coat quickly became the preferred garment among Union infantry for its simplicity, comfort, and practicality. While more ornate frock coats were issued for formal wear, soldiers of all branches often relied on the sack coat for daily fatigue duties and campaign use.
Our reproduction faithfully follows the original 19th-century pattern, crafted with authentic materials and construction methods. It features four front buttons, a single inside breast pocket, and the historically accurate loose-fitting cut that made it a favorite among soldiers in the field.
